These game coulda been ours but we had a vote on it. That being said still fun to watch, and can sympathize with the protest crowds.
On the other hand its tradition kind of a fun thing, nothing I could ever afford. But watching it on TV.
Im super late on everything lately in my life and same goes for updating the blog, but finally got to it.
Lets see some events here, watched the opening ceremony, was nice. Not a super fan of all the interpretive dance, but thats pretty much what it is.
I liked the made up English song, MAriah Carey, like the Andrea Bocelli, it was classy , and then also the house techno party athlete walk outs lol.
What else memorable so far.
Been watching the NBC, gotta love the Snoop Dogg broadcasts hes pretty lighthearted casual interviewer, but everyones eyes light up.
Whatched some slopestyle big air, seen the Lindsay vonn, Oh yea the first thing that happened was the Italian Ice skating and the interview. The Lindsay Vonn Crash. That was yesterday. Today was the Speed skating crash.
Not too much going on i’ll try to develop a commentary as I go. Still got another 12 days.
Enjoyed the luge events, yeah trying to keep up.
Womens Hockey just ended USA beat Canada 5-0..

Makes the sound of the olympics not quite sound the same. To be fair they only use the drone first quarter track if that. You hear the propeller buzz, when the steel on ice sound is really good through the tv, some issues on the camera work on the Fraebel run. Going really fast, this track has a couple upwards type roller coaster sections. Some bumping on the track. Anyways exciting. Everything happens so fast really see all the broadcast briefly. Like that neone lighting too

Just seen the Emily something USA sliding hit the wall then goes in at the top of the hill and sliding nearly sideways, regained control, but tense few moments to watch, as Im sure get the butterflies in the tummy lol.
After the luge comes some team skip jumping its night time. First time I seen the jumps, very nostalgic as a Calgary viewer.

Today is the 11 Feb local time 9:06 am. Seen a couple good ones already. Day started off with some Slovakia Finland Mens hockey. Now Im watching the Ladies double luge. Womens luge sandwhich. They really cruising. I like this luge track alot. I find it little comical with the insta slow replays, the thighs jiggle. Not that their overweight or anything just going so fast and the slow motion cam and alot of adjustment on the forward part of the sled. I myslef have luge’d a couple times.. haha not double but just a familiarization luge. Maybe shoulda taken that more seriously, was interesting but kind of scary to tell you the truth hahah. Thrill and speed and freedom of skiing was maybe more. Slovak run little loss of control that was intense. When I say loss of control just a temporary slide into the wall, unfavorable bounce off the wall little sideways, then kind of plant the foot down and regain control. Not sure youd really always want to use the method but must get used to the sled after a while, for me it was foreign and wouldnt go straight. Feel like i would have more confidence on a G.T. Snowracer haaha thats funny. No i like the sliding center there in Italy. It looks nice mountain background the track seems high speed and not too technical. Although the bumps into wall and sideways occured at relatively the same place. Woo Canada team really slid.Tough run for the Canadian ladies. So i guess im watching pre recorded.Thats find dont really want to spend money or go down the rabbit hole, found a couple good streams NBC. Sometimes in the past summer I remember watching the CBC, this time its Gem, not interested in paying. Maybe ill go watch it at a friends house think he has crave.. Plus been watching basketball, so Olympics is some morning activities. Wouldnt mind checking out some live, but yea its a big time difference. And Ive been on routine not really up at 3 am sometimes I am. Anyways just as the broadcast goes, I kinda like NBC. Of course its not super Canadian specific, but I see the highlights, the snoop interviews are cool. Right now is the mens single ski jump. I guess i saw the opposite sex teams, or soemthing it was man and woman combined scores. One guy really outjumped the green marker. And I guess the crazier your jump is when you take off and commit and maybe some wind and resistance factors you want out fly your opponent. THis one of the craziest olympic sports, crazier than luge.

Um anyways so makes me think of the Vancouver Olympics first . 2002 Salt Lake city, I really remember it from Vancouver and of course Canada won the mens. Anyways thought that was a bit of a historic thing the womens doubles on the home track.
Watched some figure skating nice piano, song I have stuck in my head. But ill think of it eventually.
Watched some halfpipe. The Shaun White commentaries are pretty informative so thats a cool addition. Used to have peasant vision, free thats why im not going to catch the cbc, although if I searched more pretty sure could find it. So this year can’t comment on that. Just seeing what I can find, looks like a NBC peacock with a srolling vid style commercial, triple view with figure skating, sdwe ita hockey and cze and usa curling loll triple view with the audio from the hockey game. USA network is hockey. CNBC is commerical and stock ticker. The office playing on another.. peacokc quadruple view.Nothing found in the search.

Caught a bit of curling earlier. Seen the End of the Womens hockey with a 5 nil results, so thats opposite from the first game vs usa. The Cze Canada mens game is on now.
Just kind of a fun routine early for the Olympics hockey usually gotta wait till primetime except weekends. Funny seeing Crosby and Mcdavid on the same team, imagine getting injured in Olympics though and cant play in NHL again, I guess thats the risk with any tournament , maybe even like WBC, on the other hand could look at the opportunity and skills provided with that experience. And i mean just a fun thing to attend for them. For what its worth thankful to the Italian regular people that made it happen the entertainment on my tv. Already wanted to visit Italy, maybe the games will make me want to visit more. Well after this all done. Actually had a stamp collection when I was like 10 or 11 and had all these interesting stamps from different European Olympics were the memorable ones and I still remember that, and the aesthetic is somehow similar. Hard to describe in words. Nostalgic forsure, and shiny hard lines, and artistic representations of the games, with that blend of retro colors and shapes. Symbols even. If I said like a post war snowflake lol. Or maybe like 60s halloween or xmas decor.

Caught some Women’s Skeleton that was exciting. Get some pretty wild speed and corners. So i guess it was Women’s first and mens later. Get to watch some figure skating not my fave but its part of the package lol. Oh got a triple screen, shpws the figure skating , ski jump, speed skating. That sky jump is amazing, next closest thing to flying. Figure skating not much to comment on, some intense personalities thats forsure, lol and risky technical. Oh ski jump turned into double curling games. looks like Germany Italy and Can Sweden. Olympics overload haha, I remember having a few screens going at once before. Makes it interesting witht he time difference, maybe ill wake up super early and try to get some live viewing in.

This hockey exciting too. Crosby got injured it seems back to the locker room, Canada got tying goal. Lots of good chances with Mcdavid and behind the net. And some penalties, there was a puck jammed in the corned too long cze got a penalty and then another cze roughing I think it was. Alright 3rd period here. Lets get the win from behind.
Finished the hockey game it was a 4-3 Canada OT win. Canada was down by one it seemed most of the game. So that was a exciting morning. Oh and the Womens hockey gold game is Canada USA. After the game there was some Curling, isnt my favourite. Changed the channel and now its Women’s Hotdog so thats classic. Womens Aerials. Been doing Mardi Gras too lately, and being wednesday its all over, so its interesting to see how wild last night was to completely non-mardi gras on the tuesday. Streets are clean. Anyways just something else Im watching on the side. Triple flips lol aint no way im even getting close haha. I could do a front flip on a trampoline, backflip sometimes. Doing with big skis on your feet sounds crazy lol. But, super cool to watch.

Anyways first cbc broadcast watching the Women’s gold hockey finals Can vs USA after the shut out last time. Anyways they made it both to gold which isnt the case in the Mens It hink probably walk off that shut out, and got nothing but wins after. Just some back and forth so far. Not too many Olympics days left so get it in. Been catching up all the events on the Peacock So anyways wanted to check out the Canadian broadcast instead lol. Broadcasting in Olympics is big business. And you got all the characters coming out for the events.

The Women’s hockey was pretty wild was ahead by one, tied then overtime loss it was pretty devastating ahaha, ah well the ladies played tough probably one of the most memorable Olympic moments so far even though it didnt end in Canada’s favour. Wasnt much else after I remember the figure skating some hot dog aerials. Bunch of curling. Now this morning in the Men’s Hockey Canada vs Finland for the pre gold game. So more hockey left. Crosby isnt in the game, Mcdavid is Captain. Although I kinda wish it was Can USA. Cause we didnt get that at the juniors. So whatever switch it up. Any Olympics hockey is exciting, feels like the whole country watching, specially that its at a international time funny way to start the day. Well im excited for the bobsled, only less than a couple days left till the closing ceremony. The Usa Mens hockey is next after this game vs Slovakia.

Nice so Canada won in overtime, the USA game is on right now. they are winning 3 zip I believe. So other sports we got some baseball spring traiing today not olympic related. Next viewing some womend doubles bobsled so far USA in the lead. Just seen a German team make 3rd on their run. Bobsled is awesome though something you dont see everyday, not me at least. But I enjoy getting to watch at the sliding center. Yesterday had the snowing ski jump super nostalgic and winter feeling. Something about the stadium lighting and the super snowfall is nice on the eyes. Feb is sometimes my least fave month but this one wrapping up nicely. Bunch of progress and some more free time Trying to use wisely also its Olympics its a gift to be able to watch as much as I can cause i remember being a youth and a employee and just kind fo give up on olympic dreams like watching the events on tv lol, cause not everyone had cable and the adults dont want you watching tv all day. And, better watching tv probability if it was already winter. Summer olympics less so unless its raining maybe. And, as a employee cam recall a few times being able to watch some hockey but that was about it. Would be fun in person too but also would be a logistical nightmare. Hey if I had the means to make it happeb Its something Id consider, at least once. And if my city hosted it again thad be something else. These just my opinions but show me a government that makes some significant infrastructure and completions for a few decades, with a surplus and a plan then i’d be alright with seeing the games in my town again, or even energy spent towards that. But this emergency band aid solutions, and conjoined overspending on luxury and non essential frivolities ain’t it. Its like be a good city council for 20 years then do something nice. Anyways rant about hosting the games, its relavent cause it could been us and the city was trying to bid on the games. We ahd a big water main break and the news break to us that been getting ripped off for the past 20 years. Anyways guess thats just the status quo. That being said would be cool to see the COP and sliding center back in action and ski jump too. I digress. Watching the luge is more entertaining than a airing of grievances. Kinda crazy watching these rub, the bobsled looks like is about to go on its sides this one specific turn, I think its turn 9 as a guess, but always seem to bump in the wall after that sharp turn.
Appears Usa won or is winning 6-1 in 3rd . Oh no Slovakia just got one 6-2. I guess they ghotta reload the bob sled and take it back up the hill. They do that on horseback back in the day ?
I mean hauling logs on the sleds that makes sense. Looking forward to the Jamaican thats gotta be tomorrow, yes all 4 heats.

Last day olympics officially Im pretty sure, should be some wrap up events tomorrow probably. Today is the B day. Watching Biathlon, Baseball , Basketball, boxing. Could probably think of another if I tried hard. There was the Ukranian dude that had the memorial helmet, I kind of agree let the dude memorial. I know olympic themed supposed to be olympics and no politics, but you got other protests happening outside olympics I guess they just pretend arent happening, certainly doesnt get the camera crews lol. I think it was a good protest I mean isnt russia already barred from olympics. I guess what could I say.. You cant pick and choose for the olympics when you want to allow or dissalow politics. I think maybe an example from my limited experience, didnt Jesse Owens compete in Berlin, with the nazis kind of mocking the USA because of the racial discrimination. I suspect anyways the nazis were super critical of protests as well haha. Prolly shoulda let the guy slide and not made too much of a big deal. They asked him not to and refused in protest. I guess thats what the bottom line ethics comes down too. What is more important olympic dream, or a bit of sacrifice for humanity. Should also recognize wont be the same olympics with mass war. Yeah interesting battleground though lots of nuances with the IOC and the world They just need to find ways to give back more. I think the washed up thing sayin oh all these visitors attracts investment and good for the economy. And think need to do more concrete for that. Anyways just my opinions. And, if I were in charge sure let the athletes protest. Maybe the winner gets a open mic lol on the podium. These people wouldnt have jobs without the plebs, then lock the doors for a un-affordable party. On the other hand, dont blame an athlete for just keeping quiet within the rules, probably alot of sponsors for the athlete. Its like its not really the athletes platform.
It would be like Mcdavid, going on a political rant, when the Oilers give him interview and cameo time. I think its when you get interviewed or win, can drop the smart talk. Get the fame use your own platform. Anyways I can see both sides. I respect what the dude did and his no budging, but he also took a personal sacrifice. Could i expect all other athletes there to take a hit and some sort of mass protest lol. Nah some people are just there dont watch the news trying to compete have fun. And besides why is it implied the athletes save the world. I think hockey tournaments like this, get pretty rough on a guy, specially some slavic aggressive team no chance of winning so just play physical and try to injure everyone. Probably a mixed bag.

Ah what a finish.So its a old news but team Canada lost in a shoot out overtime, lol wildest hockey game. Was a nail biter forsure. And lots of edge of your seat hockey. so usa scored 1st. Canada scored in the end second. Then it was just back and forth all 3rd Canada more shots on net. Then the overtime goal haha, same as the Womens game. Anyways kinda disapointing but also was a hell of a game cant win em all, lots of emotion with the Crosby out. USA hadnt won goal since 1980 so thats quite the win for em. Canada I grew up on Canada winning every other one. And the junior tournaments, and the womens hockey, I have lots of memories. Was kinda fun some epic high tier hockey rivalry. Feels uniting even if we lost. And, I had fun, only ones that it really sucks for is like Crosby and Mcdavid Marchand. Those guys gotta be pissed. Anyways we (me and my friends watching) all supported team Canada win or lose. Just makes waiting for the next re-match more exciting. We do get WBC, but yea thats not going to happen haha. I just hope we win our bracket beat the blue jays. Anyways I’ll write on that later why not. Love WBC. what esles is there to say about hockey nothing really. Let the fans have their moment. Its a few days after Olympics. Watching the internet about the US hockey team at the Oval Office. Theres some mixed reaction, this happened before too with football. Anyways all ill say is my opinion, is why expect the athletes to follow some kind of organized protest the average commenter wouldnt do themselves. If you want to protest win the gold then deny the invite, in which the womens team did with a professional statement. Which is fine too. For alot of these guys probably boyhood dream be at the white house for winning sports. They had it on the Forrest Gump as a all american experience. Even though Im miffed we lost, If they want to protest and not show up go for it. This is from the olympic viewpoint. I just find this idea that being selfish sometimes is bad. Or that if you dont join the mass protest by sacrificing you may or may not fully agree, you aint real. Some people atheletes might have a different hill to die on for values. Look at the Kaepernick protest career ruiner. So when you got the contract, you expected to be proffesional, participate in these sorts of events, and leave your emotion at home. Its like work. These people expect these guys with families to flail about and lose the golden goose. You’ll get ostracized, labelled bad attitude. And, im sure they do have opinions and grievances just not airing their dirty laundry. In turn though if someone wants to individually do some activism, like the Ukrainian fellow. Thats a personal choice. And much more effective than I dunno flailing to take your team down. Team entity maybe thats the difference. Like a ship mutiny lol. I just feel like im observing the normalizing such high excpectation athletes do all the world activism, while they technically have the most to lose, while those with not much to lose, arent held to same standards. Or maybe its the story telling and how these athletes are some awesome and idolized and charity this mcdonalds kids that. And theres another disconnect community action, yeah sure they have the means. Does someone dissaprove the hockey team they infact do more charity than the organization I doubt it. Anyways onus should be on politicians to do their job, not guilt shame some winners with their 15 min fame and celebration. Thats my take. Its olympic related but If im looking for reasons to be upset I can choose a dozen more tangible things lol. In another note Flavor Flave being awesome with the womens athletes, when rappers have more morals and I dunno the dude seems like a philantropist and ah its a nice touch. Coming from Public Enemy to wholesome philanthropy is quite the contrast but yea same with Snoop. Just looking for fodder to write about. Some of it hypotheticals, and nonsense. The whole argument is a hypothetical, what would I do if I was american invited to white house after winning world hockey.
