Silent Movie ’76

Bravo!
That was so damn funny lol.
That was cry laughing at certain points.
That was the funniest slapstick i seen since 3 stooges.
Just a hilarious fun movie.
Wow times have changed, cant make movies like that anymore.
I didnt know you could make movies like that, and im glad they did.
I havent seen a silent film since L’inferno, or Nosferatu.
That was an excellent movie wow I havent laughed so hard in a minute.
Thats a insta classic for me.
Love the characters the sets, the jokes, the cameos, the story, the action and car chases.
The slapstick humor.
Omg i cant believe, Burt Reynolds, James Caan, Liza Minelli holy shit thats Judy Garlands daughter i just learnt that.
Holy shit what a master piece, i didnt know the other actors, actresses excpet from the Mel Brooks movies.
I gotta say Mel Brooks makes some of the best movies ive ever seen.
From the black and white to the silent film slap stick, i wondered how he was gonna do it, but the delivery was perfect. Each film is its own creation wild an unique.
Gotta love the second chance studios, the greedy corporate shills, the star search, the character fall down, the loyal friends, the final chase and climax, the ending. Everything was fantastic, not so much stereotypes but epic clichees. i think its great he acted as himself in this. I love the side kicks, Marty Feldman, was hilarious, just a funny smiling face drooling over the honeys. Always doing something light mannered peverted lol. You couldnt do that nowadays but sexyness and courting was certainly different back then. Its back then for me the movie is 46 years old. I love seeing the Hollywood back in the day. Its an homage to the golden age. That corporate washroom shirt scene reminded me of some Stooges gags. Some more original jokes though, like the running through the park turning into a race, that was so random and funny lol. Oh yea got carried away; Dom Delouise hes so funny, i loved him in the twelve chairs, but this was over the top. Marty was the comedic relief partially, dom was the gags, rigth away hes liek pull over i need a blueberry pie. Always thinking with his stomach, but super loyal to Mel Funn. And, Marty always distracted by the girls, MelFunn had the drinking vice, although the him drinking scene was so comedic and light hearted everything really worked out, not like actual alcoholism which is so grime and nasty, this was a ‘broadway’ alcoholism. sid Ceasar never heard of hm he was a good chief for the film studio, the bad guys were good too. The first few jokes were a little strannge then the movie really got rolling.
I liek the delivery for the newspaper stands, was a repeating scene letting the audience know what was going on. Then Burt Reynolds and the tall guy suit, the steam roller and the shower scene was so funny and unexpected. I was impressed to see the famous A-list actor agreeing to be in the movie I guess just as himself. It was fun, he plays his famous self with massive ego and always checkin himself out in the mirror. Its a whole generation away. The stars of yesteryear. James Caan, that was a funny scene too with the trailer balancing. Oh yea Burt Reynolds i dont even know him except for old shows with him and the car and the hair, I couldnt even name a show or movie if i wanted to. Hes more commercials famous. Ill google after. James Caan I recocgnized just after Burt. Burt is arguably more recognizable than James Caan, but you see his trailer and name and yea i recognize James, for more serious movies wow lots of movies, Elf, Misery!! wow forgot about that one. No way Bridge too far wow that takes me back lol. Godfather, eraser, Dick Tracey, wow thats a impressive list. Those are just some of the films i recognize right away. Mickey Blue eyes, Sadly died last month Rest in Power, thanks for the good movies, really enjoyed that Mel Brooks one. I guess thats what life is gonna be watching all your childhood and stars or yesteryear slowly disapear. Heart problems at 82. Definetly a star. I didnt even hear that n the news so im just sorta discovering that now. Liza MNinneli, that knight in armor scene was hilarious. Just a simple thing like sitting down could be so funny, with the salad in the hair. The last star, wasnt sure who that was. Anne Bancroft. Never heard of her. Then after the chief in hospital, they call up the french mime scene, im not sure im familiar with him neither but that was pretty funny. French have a certain type of joke that can be done i guess completely different than English like Uk, its no doubt easy material to imitate like in Monty Python, but they make fun of themselves too so its quite hilarious.
What else could i possibly, say. Oh Yea Paul Newman, salad dressing thats the only reason i know of him, but apperently a race car action movie guy. Just faces you know cause no dialogue really. ANd, how can i forget the score to that movie, it was incredible, a little random, lots of good drumming silly drumming gongs, slide whistles, late 70s sound effects. Foley effects, dog fight. I was really wondering how are they gonna do this. Anyways really enjoyed that watched it all in one sitting. Dont wanna leave out Mels Girlfriend dancing was great and fun. Anne Bancroft dancing scene was also epic. Just overboard fancy hollywood with the cigarette sticks. the possee of young men, the Mexican clacker dance. Yeh all in all really well done. I freaking loved that actually. And a homage to the kings of slapstick. I wonder if the stooges woulda liked that, obviously. Its really amazing how you can stretch out the good parts, and essentially take away the sound and still make a coherant good movie really a good achievement. Although im sure the studios were like nah way.

___
Ann Bancroft, the gradute, havent seen that but i know a little about it. Um blazzing saddles i beleive, making of story. Dustin Hoffman. Ill check it. Dracula dead and loving it with the new columbia logo, gotta check that out, looks silly enough, No way GI jane. I seen that years ago.
Anne is a senator in that.. ANother movie with Dom Delouise Fatso, he musta been typecast with a title like that. No way she was in Antz, as the Queen ant lol. lol the shit i learn. Thats like all i recognize, but Some of these look good, treasure of Golden Condor ’53 Retless Breed Gorilla at large lol.
Pal Newman, in Carz, butch cassidy sundance kid, dont know much about him but I buy his salad dressing for years. Interesting, navy service and philantropist, racing, looks like a intersting dude. Such a strange role for him then with the broken leg wheelchair and asking to be in the movie with Mel Funn. Nice.
Bernadette peters, with steve martin films annie, musicals, The Jerk i actually seen that when i was a kid, strange. Ok so i guess i kinda know her a bit (from movies) Just didnt know. Liza Minnelli im sorry or ashamed i dont know too much about her. music star right, she seemed funny and nice in the dinner. She looks a little strange in later years, unique face with wide eyes, i mean recognizable. Toured with Frank sinatra wow. Yeh Music albums,. broadway impressive resume. Yeh i guess i just dont know all the stars from the 70s lol. Ill check it out, nothing like pop culture from 40+ years ago.

Young Frankenstein ’74

Ok this movie was fucking awesome!!!
Took me a little while to finish the movie, I think 3 days just busy with school.
Fucking annoyed about something else too.
Just wanted to put a marker down for that i completed it.
Once again Gene Wilder out does himself what a great actor.
The movie was great, little long but very progressive.
Fave scenes, are the tap dance scene and the bride of frankenstein.
ill write more once im not so irritated, but i can say these Mel Brooks films are really bringing me alot of joy as a respite from school.

___
I was watching some making of” behind the scenes, and yeh apperently Columbia didnt want it. So as a fan of the Columbia im a little disapointed, missed a good chance. That only a couple negative things from Columbia so far, the Cypress hill , and this movie. I guess thats really a thing, studio not wanting to take a chance on the black and white or silly movies, i know the sentiment, justw wanna go with a tried and true formula, something popular in the day, but its clear you really get teh classics when the studio takes a chance. Also im sure equal amounts can backfire. Stupidity vs creativity. Just like being provacative for no other reason than to be contraversial is a stupid idea. Although if the subject matter is , and the director has experience. Yeh i duno, at the same time you can be provacative stupid and still have a theme that isnt just shock comedy, like the Skycorp its really like off the wall but i think its done well.

The Twelve Chairs ’70

Im on a streak. Mel Brooks it continues. Watched this one never heard anything about it before.
It was a good movie, i liked that story. Good writing. It reminds me of Mad Mad Mad Mad world, the riches after death. Chasing riches lol. Chasing those 12 chairs in a ridiculous fashion. The priest was absolutely hilarious. The old master passionate actor. The tall male lead, was great acting and entertaining to watch. Just a crazy adventure. Yeh its slapstick not nearly as crazy as ‘The Producers,’ but very enjoyable still. I like the early 70s style. The film was a grand affair, trains, and sets and people living in the past and horses a grand affair. Very good set actually costumes. Characters. I was wondering how that was gonna turn out. It was just a funny situation, so yeh its a little tamed back compared to the crazyness and raunchyness of what ive watched before from the Mel Brooks. It is funnier than funny. Mel Brook in the movie in a funny role, hes the past-day Quentin Tarantino, acting in his own movies. I guess the subject matter a little strange after the bolshevik revolution and touches on some of those issues. Pokes a little fun at it, itsa parody of the 20s. How the rich dude shown as so greedy, wants the rules to not apply to him. But with the partner he grows as a character lol. Throughout the movie hes so angry about his riches lol. Its almost comical. Nah its definetly comical. The parttner has mucha laisser fair attitude about the whole thing. A joie de vivre. Besides the hilarities of the priest i think my favorite scene is the one with the Dostoyevsky statue, and how the rich dude is too proud to beg, well he gets his lesson soon enough. I thought that was a good scene, i guess it maybe cemented their friendship too. Yeh shout outs to Frank Langella, no way he was partner with Whoppi Goldberg lol thats insane. Hes a great actor. I enjoyed watching him. He was funny. Ok the priest, Dom delouise was hilarious. These character born in the 30’s isnt really far off the setting of the film. Theater themes, a little bit of pinochio and circus and gypsy performers. I thought the food scenes were intersting. And, the ending too, ends up being a shared pot of gold lol, its just ridiculous. Yeh im not sure otherwise what the director ad playwright was even trying to show, just maybe the lighter side of chasing wealth and to what crazy ends people will go to for the pot of gold. One would let one die, the other gives his jacket and saves a man from drowning. That siberia scene was hilarious lol, the poor engineer and his wife have to deal with the priest that has lost all sensibility. Some funy religious jokes going on its comical. Otherwsie great movie. Wasnt sure what to expect but i appreciate the story telling and the denouement of the film. Those chairs getting thrashed its pretty funny. And the desperation after going trhu such lengths for the pot of gold lol. Not sure what else i can write about this for now. Gonna do a little more research and see what i can come up with.

The Producers ’67

Holy shit that was a crazy film lol.
I cant beleive thats rated PG that was completely wild.
Yeh im left blown away i didnt know you could make movies like that.
That was obscene offensive hilarious, artistic, creative, funny, dramatic, just a crazy picture lol.
Ok the sets, mix of grimey new york, mix of classy NYC , late 60s.
Characters, Max Bialystock just a wild faced actor lol, you dont see may leads like that nowadays, everyone nowadays looks perfect no wild comb-over like that, with frantic drooly looks. Zero Mostel, he was great. Thats a wild character. Leo Bloom the accountant. So happy to see Gene Wilder again, what a great actor. Passionate, funny, emotional, believable. The movie is just so fucking crazy only someone like Gene Wilder could play that character to its full potential. Ok the only other exposure i had to the Producers was in Curb your enthusiasm, Larry and David Schwimer from Ross Friends fame, then run a broadway of their own. Apperently theres a 2010 version too. So its a classic and many spin offs. I can see why Larry david liked the movie its completely insane. Its had a mocking of ww2 germany, not germany so much but the fuhrer caricature. Its was complewtely insane, i was watching some scenese and i was like wow, they put this in a movie. The author is a crackpot ex-german soldier with the helmet always on hes the author unsuspecting that they are making a mockery of his work, searching for the worst play. The plan backfires hilariously its a perfect storm. Ah man what can i say, its a cinematic masterpiece, i was not expecting that. I usually review shitty movies on the blog but this one was as wild as it was funny. This is more Mel Brooks im going in chronological order. I decided to skip the first first one for now, and maybe save it for last. The first one on the list is the “Critic” thats kinda what i do, i dunno i do it for fun and therapeutic not for a job. I dont think i could do this for a job, i enjoy having the personal entertainment database though. Yeh i like the Max’s office, i like the musical style. Broadway is such a crazy thing. Makes me think of 41 theatres. Makes me think of Andrew Carnegie, thats more of a concert hall not theatre. Anyways yeh i wonder if he woulda like this movie. lol. Ah man that just comical thinking of a 1900-1910 audience watching this shit from the 60s, thats hilarious. Something funny about completely running a farce on a unsuspecting overly classy people, i guess thats what makes the stooges so damned funny too. Ah man, and the Broadway audience are very prim and proper so seeing the cakes fly just makes ya bust a gut laughing. This review is all scattered im having difficulty writing my thousad words and keeping the paragraphs together. So yeh Mel brooks fairly offensive even funnier than funny. For a crass person like myself it completely blew me away how hilarious and off the wall this was. Its a insta classic for me. I liek how tormented of a characted Max is getting money from the old ladies, then the proper accountant learning to live for the first time. This movie is about being yourself, and friendship and sticking to the plan and the hilarities of life when things dont go right, or rather looking on the bright side of things. The difficult and crazy world of art. The characters in the world of art and theatre lol. Ok from the sexy secretary and dance you know things gonna get wild, then the crazy german writer, he really played his character well, a distraught ex soldier just completely psycho lol Gene and Max doing anything not to make him go-off his rocker, that was a funny dynamic. Then you got the director, the worst director mind you and his crazy looking assistant. He just wants to feed his ego and everyone to like him. He really fits the role of a strange eccentric feminine director. But also very crazy, like the director in the simpsons, when marge acts. Then you got all the rehearsal candidates. Very seinfeld and Kramer esque too. this was NY though not culver city so a little different than last time. To the play itself, and opening night. Oh wait the very 60s music guy and that performance and band was really neat. it was wayy off the wall and ridiculous but it was like a slice in time. 3 person band with some very hippy sounding music. Like flowers in your hair san fran style. Yeh the performance itself, its just shocking to watch lol, you cant believe its unfolding before you like that. Seems liek its a settled deal (they want the play to flop) till it turns around and becomes a characature, a beast out of control, yeh thats the funniest part your just watching this abomination unfurl, and its so shocking your like omg am i actually watching this, and yes and its still manages to be like a monty python skit on crack. I can make that correlation forsure. Lots of comedic material afetr the war, from stooges to monty python to this movie, I wonder if the incvlude the ww2 references in every adaptation, doesnt seem like you would need to but what do i know. Yeh to the ending lol, well their both in court, friends as ever. Max and Leo are really lovable characters. Anyways they get sentenced, and sure as shit theyre doing the exact same thing behind bars, which finished off the movie fantastically. All for the love of theatre, but money mostly. I just chuckle when i think of the gags in this. i really likeed how grimey some of the characters are, and just living in that office. He splashes the coffee in the window, hes like its so dark i cant tell if its night or day. lol I thought that was funny. Just a little off a detective noir set. You know phantom of the opera style. I dunno just a feel good movie and shocking at the same time. I gotta say really impressed with Gene Wilder, always in the best movies, rigbth on the razors edge and controversy. i havent seen anything else about the film so im gonna learn more now, liek the making of and other peoples synopsis, i just always like to write down my opinions, so im not tainted by the opinions of others. Of course i miss a bunch the first time but thats fine with me. It makes for a neat reveal. I never really liked the rotten tomatoes way of viewing films, it always has spoilers and shitty opinions that make me pre-judge the film before actually watching it. Of course theres spoilers in here, but the film is 55 yeasrs old and research and cinemassacre brought me here. But im not gonna go all read the synopsis and making off till i see the film myself. This being my literal first impressions. Anyways on to the next one. I gotta say i really liked that one maybe almost more than Blazing Saddles for different reasons. All i gotta say is Mel Brooks is a legend at making movies. Funnier than funny im really happy to have some exposure to these classics.
___
i found a 7 part mini series on the making of this movie on youtube im gonna watch.
Shut up im having a rhetorical conversation, fuck that was funny too. I just remembered.
The fact that max is based off a real character is pretty hilarious.
Just read about Zero Mostel, very much like death of a salesman. Kind of a sad story.
__
Thats funny Slick Rick performed at the Carnegie hall yesterday a little coincidence for the blog lol.

Blazing Saddles ’74

Just watched this, it seems like for the first time. I remember it as a kid, but holy fuck that was good. James is right that movie is funnier than funny. Never thought a 70s movie could be so crude and comedic at the same time. I gotta say i really enjoyed that. I like westerns to begin with but that was something special. Seems i always watch something that wouyld be deemed offensive nowadays, like this movie langauge and stereotypes up to the the Stooges, but fuck that was a good movie. Thats definitely some buddy cop vibes going off there. All at culver city too. Yea im stoked that was funny and evocative, feel good movie, about the good guys winning and the slapstick in a western style. I feel really blessed to have watched a retro classic like that today. Cause that was some cinematic gold right there. I really liked the characters the Sheriff, the villains, the main villain, Mel himself, Mongo the brute, Lili von, the germanic parodies, the townspeople, the executioner, Gene Wilder, wow. The indians, the railway workes black and asian. The harsh stereotypes the language, it was like borderline offensive, but in a day now where nothing is sacred, i mean compare that to some south park its not even on the same level, yet being full frontal on the stereotypes is frowned upon nowadays, South park does it with more sublety. Im sure some people could never like this movie and could never debate such a topic, but for a crass individual as myslef that appreciates comedy and a good laugh, fuck that was epic. I bet the actors who worked on that were so proud of their movie , like james said it really breaks down that 4th wall. I didnt know you could do that in a movie ahahaha.
Even Lamar is like why am i asking you, you know i was just thinking with Quentin Tarantino homage to this very movie it seems with Django unchained. Django was definetly more of action thriller drama romance, then straight up slapstick comedy, But Yea i could see some similarities, with some german referencance, broomhilda and well on few days after emancipation day (Canada) it seems really fitting. What else can i say, wow its really nice to see Gene wilder in a movie again. Such a lovable character. The acting was spot on, dancing performances. The villains reminded me of the dirty pirates like in Treasure Island, you just really dont see movies like this nowadays. Maybe something like Scary movie, or a total parody flick, or some jokes youd see on Chapelle show, just not giving any fucks attitude. Im sure the studios were like what !? Which makes it just such a legendary movie. So definetly some pretty strong language making a point, and a product of its time, and sooner. I think its not only justified to show its offensiveness but it wouldnt pack the same punch if it didnt have those words or was censored. Yeh i just witnessed a anti-racist movie making fun of itself with some strong language. Its really no wonder everyone i know really adores this movie and is rated and one of the best comedy movies all time. And theres really nothing else like it. Its funnier than funny. Yeh the sheriff is cool and suave reminds me alot of Django. Plus the whole intent is on being fun. You dont see white people dressing up as the natives nowadays though thats pretty if not as taboo as the black face. When i look at some of the actual events happening in 74, watergate and vietnam people probably needed some comic relief. Mel Saw that and made a masterpiece lol. If i look at the Breakfast at tiffanys and the charicature of the landlord, its really some of those scenes that got away and like heard the fellow say theres not a day he wishes he couldnt go back and change it, it like though you put it down, and later realize it was a bad move. im not defending any of it, but as a whoel i can judge it to be fairly innocent and good humored. Hell the charicatures white western folks way worse , im not saying that makes it ok but i can have a laught at the bean eating farting dirty cowboys. What is the Kansas city joke anyways, reminds me of the old el paso salsa, this stuff made in new york city !? I guess now ill read some more opinions on the movie and check out the making of and learn little more, cause i mean lets be honest its 2022 and im checking out Blazzing Saddles for the first time. Im a little bit behind on this particular pop culture, but its new to me, and I greatly enjoyed that piece of work. Definetly got more Mel Brooks on my mind and im ready for a good cinematic laugh. So blessed i can check out this whole collection. Im really familiar with spaceballs, but yeh like i said, when youre in the mood for star wars,m you dont wanna watch spaceballs, same as when you wanna hear some michael jackson, Weird al yankovich wont do. Im not really trying to compare spaceballs to Blazing saddles. I wonder if John wayne liked that movie that would be some interesting trivia for me lol

___ new things after wathcing the behind the scenes.Hey Lamarr, Slim Pickens. Burton Gilliam he seems like a really nice dude after hearing his interviews.

Summer 2022

Havent visited the blog in while might aswell write a couple of the flicks i seen that I thought were worth logging.
Just been so busy with school and life that the blog really takes back seat.
I do this for solely myself, although i suppose if someone enjoys reading my ramblings the more the merrier.
Found some fun writers on the twitter. I use the twitter for baseball, but its brought about some interesting cross interests. Such as the writing education space, engineering, music. Mostly follow celebrities I can only follow on twitter.
Anyways where was I.
Top gun 2, Sorry Top gun “Maverick.”
Tom Cruise is a weirdo, yea. But he makes really good movies lol.
Aint that the truth. upon reviews from my friend to see in theatres seen it with the fam. I enjoyed it. no special effects, decent acting, just being around the planes is so cool. I dunno the mission and the new class was semi forgettable, but otherwise the plane shots and action sequences, thats where its at. Oh yea jennifer Connely too, shes A-list forsure. I always see her in that horrible drug movie with Jared Leto. Requiem for a dream, omg that traumatzing movie from my teens lol. yeh thats a character role ill never forget. I dont nessecarily suggest that movie unless your looking for a traumatic shocking movie. But never the less a intense role for her. I also like Labyrinth with David Bowie, thats a more fantasy puppet movie, its more family friendly. So i was pleasantly surprised to see her in that. Yeh Tom Cruise what can you say, I like how cocky he is and that mach speed scene where he ends up at the bar asking for a glass of water. I dunno its also fun to see him back in the jets. They picked up where it left off. The whole Goose and son thing, i guess was kinda predictable and ‘part’ of the story, but it left me kinda rolling my eyes. If finally he was gonna be on the mission anyways then why bother with the sappyness. And, then they crashed behind enemy lines, and were in a jet in like 2 seconds after lol. That was another eye roll. Im just like go all in rambo style, Arnold style and forget the sappyness. Thats all the negative things i gotta say. Its like why dip your toe in the stupid pool just to go back to the action movie. I dunno i guess some type of story and character development. Otherwise im a fa, i seen it in theatres, the jets were amazing, you know shout out to John Hamm I was really happy to see him in such a comic relief awesome role. ill never forget him in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. As the hotel front desk guy. Yeh that was great. Plus hes the superior so it just made it funny for me to watch. Yeh the new class, cocky over emotional pilots from every race and stereotype. It was like the beginning of a resident evil movie, where you meet all the ‘crew’ so to speak. I dunno is it really necessary, maybe. Theres the nice humble and the evil cocky guy, just overkill on the stereotypes, makes it for cheezy characters you love to hate and normal nice characters you supposed to love. Nothing against any of them i just think its a little clichee. If holywood really wanted to introduce new characters they can easily. In the case of stranger things, overnight successes, kate bush, its like wow. So yeh a little rinsing old characters some new. This just my unbridadle opinion btw. No idea who Miles Teller or Glenn Powell are, besides this flick. Yeh Val Kilmer too looking not so great but a nice homage to some older characters from the first film. I mean they did the new matrix without Lawrence Fishburne not sure why, but its the ‘universes’ way. Where anything goes. Im fine with it who cares, but they did Lawrence Fishburn bad i think. They put a statue of him lol. Like why bother lol. I wonder if he went to go see it. Anyways what else can is say, good movie good cast, decent story, excellent execution, definetly would pay another movie ticket to see it again. Top Gun is Tom Cruises baby so its fitting. Yeh i liked his character. Cool but growth. Really the jets and action is a star in this film. Its like a edge of your seat movie and they did it well. Just fun all around, little emotion little comedy little romance lots of action. i think thats a fair review. Mind you been like about a month since i seen it, so thats just the remnants of my memories.
Next other movie wanted to write a few words about was the Who framed roger rabbit. Ok that was awesome again for the 100th time. Not gonna write much about it, but this time i seen the making-of ad yeh alot more than i though went into that movie. And the Disney and Warner Bros in the same scenes, that was cool too revisit. Dark tones, All around awesome movie.
I watched Casino, that was cool, long ass movie. Not much to write about, I did see it this summer along with the making-of aswell, so learnt a bunch of things regarding the film and that history.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s; that was great. Its some of my friends and fam favorite film so i watched it for the first time. It was better than i expected. Just an interesting classic film. 60s were weird lol. What constitutes social things in the 60s and mannerism i find a little strange, or different from my era. But yea they sure got pissed up back then, I though it was a clever movie, funny sad, romantic, tossing that cat around. Things you dont see in movies nowadays. Nice ending lol. So im glad i checked that one out.
I think thats it. I have on the list to check out some Mel Brooks and revisit those cause as a kid wasnt that interesting for me, I did see young frankenstein in school. Space balls obvisouly. Sad to say those movies had a retro cringeyness, when you wanna watch starwars, you know spaceballs or parody wont do. I can appreciate it but never was the top choice for a feature for me. Its like replacing weird al record instead of the hit record you wanna listen to. That and some old 70s jams wasnt that appealing as kid compared to now. I guess thats all i can say about that. Cause i really do enjoy the stooges and that plan 9, So i think it would be good to revisit some Mel Brooks. All from Cinnemassacre tribute. So i think its worth the time. Otherwise always in search of off the beaten path films no one really talks about today. I like new shit, but i especially like finding new-to-me greatness. And, not to mention im not a super fan of netflix anyways. Keeps renewing and it barely holds my interest honestly. Although i keeep it incase i get in that binge mood and then its fun, but rare and few and far between.

Plan 9 From Outer Space ’59

This movie is just totally ridiculous, bustin a gut laughin.
Just making a note, about the Vampira, and that waspish waistline.
I guess she was inspired by some Charles Addams comics. Obviously Morticia, anyways interesting story. Its funny to note I was watching some Addams Family original not too long ago. Never occured to me to find out about the creator of the Addmas family idea, was the American comic illustrator Charles Addams. Wow this movie is great, the sets the acting, the characters, the stock footage, the UFOs. Boy I was surprised to see the occupents of the UFO were straigh up human, just some funny star trek style suits. Well and the ship is much of an upgrade compared to the Flash Gordon Steam ships. I like the plain backgrounds, like the Army colonel sitting behind a blank background. The graveyard, plain background. The Ufos, painted space backgrounds. Looks like this coulda been made in any cheap studio, and on the outskirts of LA. The rest stock footage, some impressive video of old school US army MLRS, theres a double twin stack, and it looks like the driver and passenger just getting tossed around violently when that thing was going off. Then some jets looked interesting to me, the F-86, sitting on that rocket tube, really the main feature of that plane, then it obviously rubbed off on the soviets because the early migs look exactly like em, before they split off with different features. Mig-15 Cool lookin plane both of em. The pilot in movie, theyre sitting in the room. Vampira’s hand and excessive nails leads the way. The inspector Clay has a ghastly look mouth drooping open. Bela Lugosi wit his standard Dracula cape, and walk. i freakin love this movie so far. Its not like B-movies from nowadays, its a movie from 1959 so far and distant from what i know, you’d have to be told its a B-movie probably. Jst cause the effects, its liek not expecting much from 2022 but when you see the sets and the tech makes you chuckle a bit. Im curious to the response of the audience back then. Whether it was a entertaining thing, or just stupid. Its rated as the best worst movie by many, and its definitely gained a cult following. Just a fun movie, for its retro appeal, dialogue and explanations, story line.
Makes me think of Mars Attacks, gonna have to revisit that one on the Blog. That I remember but its been aged a bit. Theyre all drinking coke ahaha. Seen that before. They must have a coke movie agent that places soft drinks in every half suitable situation. Turn on the dictorary so we may converse with them. Turns on the Traffic signal ahaha. Ok Solarite and more plot. But Vampira she really makes it for me, that menacing look. Its menacing and at the same time hilarious, zombies with sci fi. Horror with a sci fi that takes itself seriously. Dramatic ending. Otherwise that was great more of a haloween style movie but great nonetheless. I gotta respect the Hollywood golden age, or end of the golden era. Movie was great Tor Johnson and the characters. No one too famous except for Bela Lugosi maybe. Loved the character interactions, the aliens were a little lackluster. I mean the ‘Ruler’ was wearing some sort of medieval gard with a battle axe ahaha. I just woulda loved to see that get filmed and the director briefs. Definetly a good choice for a quick distraction. Ed Wood i think i knew that. Thats goptta be hs most famous or well known movie. Im no expert though, but its a whole world out there with Ed Wood movies. I can remember that shit didnt interest me much before, compared to now. I wish to see more. Especially some of the films made without backing from the major studios, its amateur but its good.

Tango and Cash

I cant believe it took me this long to get this on hahaha.
its more from cinnnemassacre.
Not gonna write this just acknowledging that i watched it lol.
On the fron kurt russell and stallone who could go wrog this has to be the best movie ever right
___
Ok that was fuckin great didnt know how bad i needed that ahahaha!!
That is by far one of the best buddy cop movies all time that ive ever seen.
Just completely ridiculous , fll of clichees, one liners, late 80s excess, Russell and Stalone , wow feel like a kid again, that was like an american james bond, with seinfeld stars if my name was on that credit roll id be proud lol.
Aight well that was a good start to the new series, cause i love 80s and i didnt even know this existed till tonight now i get to show all my friends.
So in terms of excessive 80s cop movies this ranks up with like Beverly hills cop III for me. Yeh ill have to rate all the action movies but yeh that really took me back to some nostalgia didnt even know i had. its easy to forget they made movies like this ahaha.
And yeh aint no one cept Cinemasscre talking about this, so thats a time capsule.I dunno for films i like cheezy one liners and ridiculous explosions and fight scenes and clichees. yup take me back to 89 im freaking thrilled lol. and shaking my head at the same time, dunno how i missed that being a kurt russell enthusiast. but there we go.

Addams Family original

Carolyn Jones shes funny.
Only a couple seasons.
Lurch is funny and tall Frankenstein lookin.
Just funny 60’s house occurrences.
Its old fashioned slightly dark.
Itsa a comedy got a laugh track.
Gomez always into some political current event with his own flavor.
Gomez has a way about things.
Oh i guess she was in dragnet and a buncha other shows and films. Morticia is a funny character.
Considering my intro to addams family had to have been in 91 with their new movie and video game. Followed by the cartoons.
Now theres a new cartoon out. Cant believe the brand still going.
Cold war 1 era.
Its got a rocky and bullwinkle feel.
Its got prop comedy.
Carolyn Jones in Batman 60s lol, thats an achievement forsure.
60s Clichee lol its a funny show to watch.

Classic Columbia

Im on the fence still with Sony.
Definetly Sony > Microsoft
Where does mac apple fit in? ahaha
But let me be clear, i freaking love Columbia pictures.
Heck I like Sony, Where is the Sony Streaming.

Anyways tried to get more history in.
Theres a columbia pictures, list unfortunately theyre incredibly difficult to find.
Some are even lost, like this one title, Better to be pitied than scorned.
I cant believe a 1922 movie from a studio lost.
Maybe they just didnt know.
So archives are an important thing.
Time capsules.
If paramount can have a streaming service so should Sony.
ill keep moving through the list though and this be my placeholder.

Alright i got something to say. Cant belive that Sony music and Cypress Hill thats ugly to me. Still like SDony but that was dumb move on their part imo , but yea thats just neither here nor there anymore, i knew there was some shitty things abou tthe columbia turned sony, but i guess thats the first one forsure is the cypress hill doc, lol. How can i not comment on that. Oh yea and then Huky and Amazon was both such ass, i just made a donation and downloaded the shit. Some Cypress fan put it up no problem at all. I sincerely tried, but im almots a expert / intermediate computer user and yea i dunno just not impressed. Even youtube lately its liek harder to fin what ur looking for sometimes. Its liek if you dont agree with the cookies its like they show you the shitty version of the page lol. Im waching Frasier on the other screen getting pinched picking up a hooker ahaha, thats so funny. Oh yea fuckin sony fucked up on that Cypress hill shit, i mean in the example for SNL, its liek what you condoned the Ashely Simpson , no offenses personally, bvut you condonned that shit over Cypress Hill, wow. And im supposed to take you seriously after that, its a bit of a heavy strike for me just sayin. I dunno still enjoyed some shit it just didnt work out with the hill sometimes, not liek itsa any of my business, that shit just crossed my path being a cypress hill fan. Yeh i dunno i think i figired it out, how i like Spony but its not teh same as the columbia, but they still use the same logoi, like e assured that i think the sony is tastefui. its just that minor nuance lol. Yheah they did release something new gaming, i barely seen, and yeh its like amzon, or hulu paramount, even disney plus. I almost think netflix and or youtube deserves it the most. you tuve is the best then. Unless its acting up liek i was describing, then go se edge for a bit lol. Whats the best movie Microsoft made, liek something windows 95 or earlier, or like Halo 1. Xbox original . Flight sim or something i cant think of atm.I guess the movies the OS is made on, i dunno if youre a cliche movie producer then its prolly all ridiculous all the time, and if it inst youre wishin it was.

“Note the notes.”
