Various Nostalgia ’93-’97

This Disneyland video.
Wow that takes me back.

What else been doing some math exercises and listening to some 97 mixes. Hearing some No Doubt.
Definitely 93>97 for me.
Just seein what exactly I can remember.
I did lose alot of old memories and souvenirs. Not that I care that much i still have the memories dont need to hang onto every trinket or old school assignment.
Still funny to remember way back then.
I feel like the 90’s 100x better than whatever this crap is now.
Its only 30 some years ago too unreal.
OPnly had a NES and play some SNES with some slow ass dial up internet compared to now 5g with all thje data and content you could download, yet people seemed happier back then.
Just the infinite unlimited instant data gratification hasnt made people happy.
Instead the infinite scroll is just mind numbing.
Neon used to be cool man lol.
Now people and their egos and plastic surgeries and fake gimmick everything.
I guess it was pretty gimmicky in the 90s but it was more like didnt take itself too seriously. Or a joke element to it.
Now its cringe and takes itself serious.
Snes was the ultimate. Aesthetic and the top of the world.

Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies 1930 – 1969

Watched every Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies passively while doing other chores and homework.
Was fun to have on the TV.
Classic what can I say.
Of course some oif it didnt age so well, it should have a disclaimer but I dont think it should be cancelled or censored.
Obviously dont want fun at someone elses expense. And, in the same hand times were different.
Its classic animation. I remember being a kid and watching all the episodes.
Was on TV forever.
Good times i love the Looney tunes cast and gags.
Funny to see Pepe Le Pew. Interesting character, its a poke at french stereotype so I get a kick outta it.
Of course I dont condoine the overly agressive women chasing or cat calls spanking butts and shit from the day, but otherwise its a funny joke, always starts with the cat being transformed into a skunk. And, skunks are pretty funny. I enjoy the fairy tales too, villains and heroes. Theres alot of race and prejudice, stereotypes. But theres also good and bad. Also the grimey alley scenes, and just doing anything to get a meal. You dont really see that nowadays. I mean to add a little more to the Pepe Le pew, it was ’45 its a light poke at european french from USA, and its pretty innocent. I mean Im looking at Duke Nukem 3d and thats quite a few tones more hardcore than Looney Tunes. Is anyone that was a kid really offended by that at the time. I dont know. All i know is I enjoyed watching it again takes me back to some nostalgia and some kid fun and silly jokes.
___
Definitely some African American portrayal, Native american, others thats a little offensive by todays standard. Similar to the Stooges I would say. Just a sign of the times I suppose. Putting it in perspective the MLK assassination was ’68 so. When I watched the creators animators and voice actors, all they looked like they were trying to do was entertain kids. Yeah and seeing back in the day and Disney, its nearly the same thing. Some offensive some mostly entertainment. WB and Space Jam 2, all the new Disneys. Its not like Roger Rabbit, like the golden age of the mix of the 2. Gritty cartoons that were semi violent but also cool. Alot of that shit lacks the cool factor nowadays.
I guess it goes on past ’69 definitely reduced in frequency.
Honestly dont know enough about W-B and the franchise to comment further.

Curb Your Enthusiasm ’00

Wow this show is hilarious, it just goes places no other show would.
So many funny lines and how to ruin a conversation in under 5 seconds lol.
I love this show poor Larry just going around everyone hates him and always trying to ruin his day.
But, Larry Perseveres to much hilarity.

Second time watching this, first time I hadnt seen the producers before missed a bunch of jokes, its just as hilarious second time I love the scenes and cameos.
Racial commentary, fauxpas’s taboo in a lot of ways pushing the enveloppe.
Its pretty good.
Theres alot of good in the show and the rest is just hilarious jokes funny cameos, I dunno its funny to watch his suffering in a way.
Is it the second seinfeld maybe. Maybe not.
Fun chance for all these actors you havent seen in a while to make an appearance.

Movies clear the cue May 31

All the Aliens.
Really like these, or revisiting these.
Sigourney Weaver is the best.
Prometheus was actually awesome

Good story ; Gripping.
Fun actors that were all about it.
Sisu is a good movie.

– Blood and gold
It was a SISU bite, same font , lesser story, I enjoyed it still but just not top tier like SISU.

Really dope Canadian American Rivalry.

____
Had a couple to add there.
Drop Zone.
meh cheezy 90s

meh it was ok its an ok action movie, i mighta rented it. Not sure how well it aged. Nothing bad to say about it.

Remo Williams: the Adventure begins 85′
Not sure how i found this one but it was pretty good.
Just silly mostly but still entertaining to watch.

Swamp Thing ’82

Tried to watch the 82 Swamp thing, Its DC and Wes Craven, i just couldnt get through it lol.
It wasnt that bad, but was hard to keep my attention, its like a B movie, slightly better than something like He-Man, so it kept my attention slightly I was waiting for the cheeze and it never really came as smelly as I wanted it.
Does it make it a good movie I dont know, just couldnt make it through. lol.
Nothing against Wes Craven or DC or Swamp Thing brand, that movie just didnt do it for me.

I think the rich botanical guy ruined it, and the endless chase scenes, not enough Swamp Thing, otherwise the sets were cool the acting was average, the effects were cool.
I swear that dude bad guy the Rambo look alike in another movie I review on the bloh, Last house on the Left ’72. That movie was a little better Id say ?
Anyways for the same actor the actor was scarier in 72.
Thats gotta be the same guy, Wait a minute Wes Craven did both .. ? Neat.
David Hess is the Villain. Hes in both.
Also recognized Adrienne Barbeau but i cant think of many other movies Ive seen her in..

Oh wait Creepshow, 82
Escape From New York
New Swamp thing, Fallout 76 game
Murder she wrote, shes been in tons of shows.

Couple more flicks

Watched the L.A. Confidential ’97 It was pretty good, Rusell Crowe again.
Theyre in LA doing cop things. Guy Pearce cool cars.
Couple Australians playing tough guy cops in the states lol.
Dangling people out the balconies.
I dunno it was good.
Kim Basinger looking good.
ahaha Eminems mom.

The Arrival ’96
I dunno what what going on here.
Misty aliens that speak in code.
Abbott and Costello references.
The Heptapods looked kinda cool, otherwise cant say too much spectacular about it.
It was interesting to look at and wanted to know wtf was going on.

Just a couple free youtube movies

Civics tax greivances

Just these stories coming up in my feed.

This video is mostly USA but feel the same sentiment up here.
I would be ashamed of my behaviour too if I was that dense.
Theres a quote in there its like : “Dont do your own research thats against the science.” Just a parody video pretty much. Its also pretty comical with use of the layered soundbites.
Hey im not trying to change anyones mind the video speaks for itself.

3 years of intense COVID propaganda, fear and hate mongering summarized in this video

Then fighting the traffic ticket, glad my taxes are going to a new arena for billionaires, literally the worst business deal imaginable while the province is burning down and toxic smoke just blankets the city and provinces states around us. Atleast the smoke brings one good news, you cant just deny it when its in your face. While the smoke blows somewhere else its easier to ignore.
Good thing my taxes are going to the important things!.

This next one, starts here with horrendous minister Dianne Lebouthier.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-revenue-agency-political-activity-diane-lebouthillier-audits-panel-report-suspension-1.4099184
suspending audits of charities and political activity circa 2017.

Fast forward to whats the count now 4.45 million tax dollars going to foreign operated ‘secret’ police stations, tax money using to actively oppress citizens of this nation.
Good thing my taxes are going to the important things.

Next you got the guy that CRA demands payment after his information was stolen.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/cra-cyber-attack-victim-fraud-1.6845430

Rewind to 2020.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-revenue-agency-cra-cyberattack-1.5688163
GC key hacked,. Geez who could be the fine minister for CRA.
Google CRA minister.
Ha yeah, I rest my case.
Of course with hybrid parliament and covid, those are some top tier excuses for incomptence, or rather criminal negligence.
The video at the top just makes it hilarious..

They you see the Worlds biggest Burl arsoned.
Churches arsoned.
Foreign interference, and you tell me its so far fetched that a single malicious actor couldnt ever be possibly responsible for setting a few blazes, yeah right.
Or if that doesnt suit you; Good thing my taxes are going to the important things.

Nope call it how i see it; A self serving abomination.
How many nuclear reactors or R&D have we completed with that massive deficit.
Not a single one oh.. I rest my case.
Tax payers building arenas, and secret police stations what a farce.
I write this from my smog covered city that couldnt manage a forest because all the public funds have been pilfered.
gotta love the army though how many domestic ops have the forces completed under this last term, more than you could shake a stick at.
And, is any recommendation taken seriously, nope.
You say climate change, but all I see is epic frauds, 800k clothing bills, flying away dodging parliament.
Oh and the last punchline just for comedic effect in this poorly written rant.

Movies consolidate

Watched a few recently.
Just logging.

Watched the Mutiny on the bounty 1962 with the Marlon Brando. It was good. He plays a suave officer, they all have fun in the tropics and come down hard on a overbearing officer lol.
Toss all his plants overboard.
Cool scenes and sets lots of people better than I thought it would be.
Marlon Brando movies are fun..

Watched the Heavy metal ’81.
Seen it many times was just fun toi watch the intro and the faces and animation.
Wish there was more American style animes. Really in your face and cool short stories.

Watched the Wizard ’89 Fun to watch again, seeing Double dragon, Mario 2, Zelda, Castlevania, just all the nintendo hits, and the truckers save the day lol.
Escaped from mental institute to play nintendo. Lol love it. Nintendo ruled the world. Universal Studios. The movie is just a hit. Just reminds me of being a kid again.

Watched the last Star fighter 1984.
First time seeing it. Some incredibly cheezy cgi, but it comes with the period, otherwise the movie was fun, with the beta clone robot, the back and forth, reminded me a bit of He-Man but it was good in its own way.

Warriors of virtue 1997. Cool movie first time seeing ti, neat 5 element king fu and kid stories. Um Fantasy and cool special effects, a fun villain. Movie was ahead of its time, surprised never seen it till now. Lots of cool wire special effects and neat sets, the Kangaroo costumes were also epic.

Master and Commander ’03

Wow havent seen this in nearly 20 years it seems.
better than I remembered it.
Like the epic movies.
Cringey and big boats, its like time travelling 200 some odd years ago, like 2-3 generations or more.
Another Youtube free recommendation, after I watched way downtown filmed in Calgary ahahah.
yeh thats what came on after.
I love movie night just get so engrossed by a film that I cant look away.
Gotta say too Russel Crowe is badass actor always enjoyed his movies, and his recent one popes exorcist was good too.
Especially enjoyed this one more than I remember. Napoleonic wars thats some crazy time to be alive lol.
Yeh I couldnt even imagine how wild that mustahave been.
The battle paintings are ruthless.
Cant say im too familiar with those days but i mean I know a little and what they showed in the movie, I guess was drawn from several sources.
I guess thats just not my type of party 2 boats loaded with cannons and sabers in the middle of the ocean. No morphine its like the civil war and getting hit with a cannon lol its pretty savage.

Pretty contrast to Treasure Island ahahaha.

Sergio Leone & Lee Van Cleef

Recently watched the fistfull of dollars. Super fun.
And, For a few dollars more was even better I think.
For a director Sergio Leone is fantastic.
Really enjoy Clint of course but Lee Van Cleef is a fun actor to watch.
Ill never forget his characters lol.
The good the bad and the ugly, thats the one Ive seen the most but never seen the prequels before. Really enjoyed that.
Not used to that on the blog im always after some horrible movies so Its great when I get some classics going.
That hat shooting scene has to be my fave lol.
Just in general really enjoying these Sergio Leone movies and casts sets music the whole package with just enough humour action drama to keep you hooked in.

___
Issues with the blog gee I wonder what that could be lol.
Anyways just for the record I know that the dollars series arent prequels and G-B-U is is a standalone. I assume the dollar sequels are the same part one and two based on the name.
As always if someone wants to correct me from something I wrote on the blog, Im happy to admit error. Until then, I rarely edit, so that mkes me right 99% of the time all the time.
Yeh anyways really enjoyed the Few Dollars more. Dare I say its better than G-B-U ? Maybe. Although I like the length and 3 characters and action.
I dunno started watching once upon a time in the west, its good but definetly not as good as the other 3.
I definetly like the cheesy aspect, or the spaghetti portion.
Neat this was filmed in like Rome and Spain desert park seems like a fun place to visit..
Oh ya watched some History of the world pt 1 and Naked Gun.. The Patriot. Movies prolly not super worth commenting on. atm

___
Finished watching the Once upon a time in the west, hey turned out not too bad.
Not sure how much of a fan I am of the Charles Bronson Western, although it was pretty good.
Lots of mystery, unknowns and change of settings character. Like what happened on the mister Choo choo, and the romance between Jill and Frank. Seemed a little strange, what happened at the brick bell arch hanging. Jill sure gets bashed around alot, lol Its pretty savage. It definetly doesnt hold back on some of the western ruthlessness and raunchy/dirtyness. Although some scenes of compassion. I guess Charles Bronson wanted to get Frank himself. Anywyas neat group of characters, some comedic parts, some dramatic parts, lots of mystery, tragedy. Overall great movie glad i watched it. I would have to say I prefered some of the classic Sergio Leone, although this one was great.
I guess im reading now the dollars trilogy does include the Good the Bad and ugly however, I can see the characters change a bit in the 3rd one? i mean same characters different traits? Well anyways. I already watched the once upon a time in America so onto the last one. Might have some issues watching the Italian ones cause im not fluent, but maybe check it out dubbed or subtitles more likely.
I think that was my first Henry Fonda movie lol.
Unless Grapes of Wrath. Im not so sure about the movie though, i think the book paints better pictures in my head.
Next the Jason Robards. Vet, Hes been in some 90s movies im familiar with. He had a good role in this movie. I enjoyed the Bandit. He was the comedic relief. Of cours Charles Bronson in Great escape. Is probably the first ive seen.
Claudia Cardinale Really pretty in this film, Shes one of the only actresses from this film still left alive. Thats the first movie I seen from that huge repertoire. Some interesting characters.
These movies are nuts, these scenes with horses and tons of people and the hangings im sure alot of people got hurt or almost, as Im reading from wikipedia lol. They dont make movies like this anymore. I mean for good reason but also thats why you wont get great films, maybe Francis Ford Cappola is right hes one of the last of the ‘dictator’ film directors. Yeh I dont see how thats a low budget film neither (Few dollars more) Leitmotif thats a new word for me, I did recognize em though, didnt know that was a thing. No way 7th grossing in France thats crazy.
